So, it begins ~ I'm starting this blog, website ...
I hope you'll come along to enjoy, learn and discover more about holidays throughout the year, traditions, folklore, legends, and so much more. All the stuff I find interesting and that brings joy and fun into our lives.
I love movies and Disneyland and celebrating it all~ Halloween, Christmas, folklore, and traditions galore~
I'll share the history, decorating/party ideas, movie suggestions, memories, and more. I want to share inspiration and the "feels" of the seasons. So, if you already love the holidays as I do, you'll feel right at home here and if you don't, hopefully if you come along each month, this will change your mind!
Family friendly with no spoilers!!
I think Valentine's Day is taken way too seriously. Whether you love the holiday and it's full of expectations or you loathe the holiday, you're taking it too seriously.
Holiday or celebration as a definition should be a notable event or day set aside and experienced by doing something special or enjoyable. Valentine's Day more than any other holiday faces skepticism regarding its commercialization and authenticity. Critics argue that the holiday has become overly commercialized, focusing more on consumerism than genuine expressions of love. Many believe that the pressure to buy gifts and celebrate in specific ways detracts from the true meaning of love and relationships and can create stress and financial burdens
TRUE
If that is what you make it.
But it doesn't have to be that way and shouldn't be. It really should just be a fun day or night you spend with someone, anyone you care about. A partner, spouse, child, parent, friend, dog, cat, or alone with yourself. If you're in a relationship, enjoy time together. If you aren't in a romantic relationship, so what - do you love someone, something or hopefully yourself? Plan something you enjoy. With or without another, enjoy a meal, binge your favorite show or movies, take a walk, listen to music, make a big night of it or stay home and keep it small. It should be a silly, fun day of hearts and love. Period. It shouldn't be sad, regretful or full of pressure either way. It also should never be a test or determination of someone's love for you. Your love for someone and their love for you should be every day and not expected to be "proven" on February 14.

Wait until it's dark. The lights and magic of Halloween night really come alive once the lights go out and the sun goes down!

Long underwear or Thermal underwear under the costume keeps you and your kids warm on cooler or cold nights, without needing to cover up costumes with coats or jackets. Unless of course you live in snow or very cold weather areas!

Make sure you take time to eat before heading out for Trick or Treating fun. A quick, healthy dinner before the festivities begin can keep the candy snacking down too. It allows everyone to have fun without needing to rush back home because of hunger.
